Effective August 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how GigBook (“we”, “us”, or “GigBook”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use gigbook.io and the GigBook application (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), and the role you select (venue owner, entertainer, production pro, or fan).
Open dates, gig applications, booking requests, negotiated terms, in-app messages, contracts, invoices, payouts, ratings, and disputes. Messages and booking details are visible to the parties involved in that booking and to GigBook administrators.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we retain references such as customer and account identifiers and the outcome of transactions. Identity verification (KYC and W-9) is handled by Persona.
Records of your requests to support, and the emails and SMS messages we send you about bookings, reminders, and account activity.
IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location derived from your city or ZIP code (used for matching and mapping), usage analytics, and cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Profile information is shown to other users according to your role and visibility settings. Booking details (date, time, pay, contact info, logistics notes) are shared between the venue and entertainer once a conversation or booking exists between them.
We share information with third parties that help us operate the Service, including Stripe (payments), Persona (identity verification), SignalHouse and Twilio (SMS), our email delivery provider, Google Maps (location), and analytics tools. These providers process your information under their own privacy policies and only as needed to deliver the services we use them for.
We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GigBook, our users, or the public.
By providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages related to bookings, show reminders, and account verification. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of non-essential SMS by replying STOP to any message or adjusting your notification preferences in the app. Essential account-security messages may still be sent.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. After account closure, we delete or anonymize your data, except where we are required to retain records (for example, tax or payment records) or where retention is needed to resolve disputes.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to restrict or object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@gigbook.io. We will verify your identity before acting on a request.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Payment data is handled by Stripe under its own security standards.
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. Venue and entertainer accounts require you to be at least 18 years old and able to enter into contracts. Fans under 18 may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. For material changes, we will provide notice through the app or by email.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, email us at privacy@gigbook.io.
